Business Continuity (BC) Planning is the process of planning how an organisation ensures it can continue operating effectively during a business disruption.
While larger businesses tend to have written BC plans in place, smaller businesses either fail to create one, or create a generic one that doesn’t really work when it’s needed.
Our Product Proposal
To address this challenge, we’re considering a training programme, delivered online, allowing business owners to methodically analyse their business and the risks they face, and then to create a working BC plan that fits their needs.
We expect to supply document templates to use alongside the training programme, to give the BC plan a consistent structure than can grow with the business to stay relevant for years to come.
Who We’re Looking For
- Business owners/Senior managers who want to properly prepare their businesses to operate regardless of disruptions
- Organisations with between 5 and 50 employees typically
- Located in the UK
- Comfortable following an online programme, with periodic videoconference support from our consultants
- Willing to work as part of a cohort of other business owners/senior managers
What We’re Offering
- Free access to the training programme and associated templates
- Periodic videoconferences with our consultants to support your progress
What We Expect
This is a product development project for us, so we’re primarily looking for feedback on the training programme itself, in terms of potential improvements.
After each stage of the programme, you’ll be asked for feedback on ease of use, relevance of material, any suggestions for improvements, etc.
Note: We act in good faith with all our research, by sharing our intellectual property and our consultants’ time, in exchange for feedback on how well (or badly) the product performs. We don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect participants to act in equally in good faith with us in return. Failure to participate in the feedback portion of this initiative risks people being prevented from participating further, and permanently blocked from participating in future initiatives.
If you’re interested in joining the Research Group, please enter your email address below.
If you want to join optional ‘Product Development’ list, we’ll notify you of all future research initiatives as they launch, so you can choose to participate in those as you see fit.
